Questions

Everything organisers ask us

Grouped by the order people usually ask them in: what the format actually is, how an evening is organised, and the practical details your venue will want.

  • 20+ only
  • Offline event entertainment
  • No real-money gambling
  • No betting
  • No cash prizes
  • No online casino

01

The format

Is any of this real-money gambling?
No. Our tables are entertainment props. Chips and points are symbolic, they are issued free of charge, and they have no monetary value at any point. Nothing is staked, nothing is paid out, and no cash or cash-equivalent prize is ever awarded.
Can guests buy more chips?
No. Chips cannot be purchased with money and are never sold. Hosts issue the agreed allocation and may top guests up during the evening as part of the entertainment, free of charge.
What happens to the chips at the end?
They are collected by the hosts, or kept by guests as a keepsake where the chips are branded. Either way there is nothing to redeem: a chip has no value outside the evening.
Are there prizes?
Only non-monetary recognition: a trophy, a certificate, a branded keepsake. We do not award cash, vouchers, gift cards or anything else that can be exchanged for money.
Do you run anything online?
No. We have no app, no platform and no online play of any kind. This website is informational: it exists so you can read about the service and request a proposal.

Planning an event

How far in advance should we book?
Four to eight weeks is comfortable for a full floor, and three to four weeks is the minimum if you want bespoke felt or custom chip faces. Single-table private events can often be arranged more quickly.
How many tables do we need?
Roughly one table per 25 to 30 guests if you want everyone playing at once, or one per 40 when the tables are part of a wider programme. We confirm the mix once we know the room and the length of the entertainment window.
Can you work around speeches and dinner?
Yes. We build the entertainment window around your running order and our hosts pause tables instantly on your cue. For seated events, the poker-themed dinner format is designed to sit between courses.
Do you supply everything?
We supply the tables, chips, cards, hosts, table lighting and the floor plan. Catering, AV, furniture and the venue itself stay with your existing suppliers unless you book full event production.

03

Venue and logistics

What space does a table need?
Roughly 3.5 by 2.5 metres including standing room, on a level floor. Compact tables are available for tight rooms and private homes.
What access do you need?
A standard double doorway, a level route from the unloading point and a goods lift for upper floors. We send a technical sheet your venue manager can sign off before the booking is confirmed.
How long does setup take?
Two to three hours for a full floor, 45 to 60 minutes for a single table. Pack-down is usually faster and can be scheduled for after guests leave.
Do you travel outside your home region?
Yes. We are based in New Plymouth and travel throughout New Zealand. Travel costs are itemised in the quotation rather than added later.

04

Policies and compliance

What is the minimum age?
20+. This is an adults-only format and we apply it without exception, including at private events.
Do you ask guests for identification?
Hosts will ask a guest to confirm they are over 20+ if there is any doubt, and will decline to seat them otherwise. The organiser is responsible for ensuring the guest list meets the age policy.
Someone in our team has concerns about gambling. Should they take part?
Our events involve no money and no wagering, but we recognise that casino-themed entertainment may still be unwelcome for someone affected by gambling-related harm. Participation is always voluntary, observer roles are available, and our hosts never pressure anyone. Our Responsible Entertainment notice covers this in full.
Can you provide documentation for our compliance team?
Yes. We can supply a written statement of the format, our age policy and our no-money-no-prizes rule, along with the booking terms, before you sign anything.
